Mykle sent me this today. It is a letter sent by my favorite poet, Sharon Olds, to First Lady Laura Bush, which was published by The Nation. (Sounds strange, but the letter outlines pretty exactly how these two came to be in contact with each other.)

Please come. I'm not sure I believe in the power of the people anymore, but just on the offchance that we live in a democratic society and that our voice matters....)

Hey there sensualist! Garaham and I are going to see Sharon Olds and Co. at her RSVP to Laura Bush event at CUNY on Fri. Night. YIPPEE!! So glad you put this up there. You knows how I feels abouts the Olds. She is the--how do you say--? The BOOTS.
