Illustration Friday

FRESH

This is done in watercolor pencil and regular pencil on bristol. I was trying to represent fresh as in: lemonade and springtime, as well as fresh as in: "Don't get fresh with me, young lady!"

I like this peice, as well as you other work on here. It's hard to keep track of all the great blogs out there.
BTW, I fixed the image problem on my site :)

Thanks for the comment on my blog. I had to take a peek at your work. Very nice!!! I really like this image of this girl!! I hear her loud and clear - Lemonade or keep on moving buddy!!!! :-)Very sassy and cute. Lemonade sounds nice right about now.

Thank you to everyone! My work is getting cuter and cuter. Hmmmmm. Hopefully I keep some of my malice for the time when the Illo-Friday topic is "submerged" or "dark alley" or something.
*haha

aside from this being a cute illo, there is some aura of cynicism in the kid's stare. i think that knife is making me feel uneasy.. hihihi 8)

I love this! There's real tension in this illustration...the apparent sweetness of the face and the threat of the knife. It reminds me a little of the novel The Bad Seed about a child who was born with the evil gene...you just never expect evil from children. Your technique is fabulous...looks like colored pencils. Just wonderful!
