This is my life
Today I spent hours crosslegged on my rainbow beadspread, sewing beads on the racchus (a word from Mykle meaning the shaft of a feather) of peacock feathers. For fun. I was DRIVEN, people, I couldn't help it.
Tonight we may make T'shirts with Dave Van Ronk on them due to us listening almost exclusivley to that man for the last 400 years (that's an exagerration). I am in the the process of making a very small hat that is a velvet flower-- blanket-stitched on the sides with beads and an elastic headstrap. If yer lucky I''ll put a ridiculous picture of me wearing it on here soon.
This is my idea: I will make an online store called "Stuff that Kai makes on Saturdays when she is hungover/feeling fine". It will be a grab-bag shop...an assortment of a different thing every week! Todays output was pretty badass...and for some reason, when I've made stuff I feel better almost than having been part of some outdoor activity. Which means I'm destined to stay indoors for the next 400 years (!) and not ever get tan or svelte. Oh fucking well, eh? Today Mykle called me a mushroom and I'd say that's not far off the mark.
So all in all, my life is perfect. I got paid for art last night too, which is the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cheerleader on top of the elephant in the crystal light garden of magic. Actually replace that chherleader with Louise Brooks:
